A member of the GCS faculty, Ted teaches courses in Christian Counseling and Practice of Ministry.
In 2019, Ted retired from full-time employment with Grace Communion International where he served for 32 years as a church pastor (Kansas, Colorado and Ohio), U.S. northeast district superintendent, U.S. southeast regional pastor, director of GCI-USA Generations Ministries (youth and family ministry), GCI publications editor (GCI Equipper, GCI Update and various GCI websites and Facebook pages), and special assistant to GCI's vice president/president Greg Williams. Ted continues producing The Surprising God blog as part of his ministry at GCS on behalf of GCI.
Before entering vocational ministry with GCI in 1987, Ted worked for 15 years as a landscape architect and land development planner in California and Colorado, eventually becoming a principal and part owner of EDAW, inc., an internationally prominent landscape architecture and planning firm.
Ted and his wife Donna now live in Alabama near the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. They have two children and four grandchildren.
