Debbie and I live in a suburb of Memphis, TN. We have two children: Lisa and Ryan. Lisa is married to Chris Higgins and they have our grandson, Amos.
After graduation from Ambassador College, Big Sandy, in 1975, I was sent to Atlanta, GA, as a ministerial assistant. After a church-wide layoff in 1976, I worked in residential construction material sales for Huttig Sash and Door, also in Atlanta.
In 1984, I was employed once more by GCI as an assistant pastor. In 1989, we were sent to pastor in Somerset, Kentucky. Over the next thirteen years I served as senior pastor in Syracuse, NY. While there I planted a church in Utica, NY. Later I served as senior pastor in Memphis and Jackson, TN. In 1999, I began serving as superintendent for the GCI Central District. From 2004-2015, I led a team that established Church Multiplication Ministries (CMM). As director of CMM, I developed training programs and support resources for GCI church planters and district church planting networks. During this time I introduced processes for ministry coaching and pastoral assessment to GCI-US.
Currently, as regional pastor, consult, train and supervise pastors and churches in the northeastern region in the US.
I’ve earned a Master of Arts in religion and Master of Divinity degrees from Liberty University, and a Doctor of Biblical Leadership and Ministry from Trinity College of the Bible and Theological Seminary.
